Information on the use of your personal data for the website ‚globainn.de‘

With its hotel Global Inn, Volkswagen Immobilien offers services that involve the processing of personal data. For all personal data captured in connection with the use of our services, Volkswagen Immobilien GmbH, Poststraße 28, 38440 Wolfsburg (VWI) bears responsibility as defined by article 4 no. 7 of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The processing of personal data by Volkswagen Immobilien means that we capture, use, compare, delete or destroy these data (article 4 no. 7 GDPR).

 

1. For what purpose do we process your personal data?

We need your personal data to do our work, e.g. to rent out hotel rooms, to confirm reservations and produce bills.

 

2. What personal data do we process?

For this purpose we process the following personal data:

  • First name and surname, address, date of birth, e-mail address, phone no.
  • Children accompanying you
  • Nationality, plus passport no. for foreign citizens
  • Dates of arrival and departure

The legal basis for this is article 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 sections b & f of the GDPR in connection with  §29 and §30, paragraph 2 of the Federal Registration Law (Bundesmeldegesetz).

 

3. How do we process this data?

Your personal data is stored and processed within our IT system at Volkswagen Immobilien. We deploy technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data from unintentional or illegal destruction, loss or alteration as well as from unauthorised disclosure or access. Our security standards are in keeping with the latest technical developments.

 

4. When do we pass on your data to third parties?

We only have the right to pass on any personal data known to us to other persons or bodies (e.g. local authorities, the German credit bureau Schufa) if you have given your consent or if it is legally permissible to pass his data on.

 

5. How long do we store your data?

We store personal data from accommodation contracts for ten years after the end of the contract, based on the fiscal limitation periods (§147 Federal Tax Law, §257 Commercial Code). Offers of accommodation not taken up are deleted after the option period stated has expired, and registration data are deleted after a period of 13 months  (§30 Federal Registration Law).

 

6. What rights (right to information, right to protest etc.) do you have?

According to the GDPR you have various rights. Details of these are stated in particular in articles 15 through 18 and 21.

 

  • Right to information

You are entitled to ask us to supply information about your personal data that we have processed. You should phrase your request precisely to facilitate the compilation of the data required.

  • Right to amendment

If the relevant information is not or no longer applicable, you can ask for it to be amended. If your data is incomplete, you can ask for completion.

  • Right to deletion

You can ask for your personal data to be deleted. Your right to deletion depends among other things on whether we still need the data relating to you to fulfil our legal duties.

  • Right to protest

You have the right to protest against the processing of the data relating to you at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. However, we cannot comply if there is a significant public interest in the processing or if we are required by law to process the data.

  • Right to complain

If you believe that we have not complied with your request, or not in full, you can file a complaint with the Data Protection Supervisory Authority of Lower Saxony.

We will respond to your request within the space of one month from receipt. Should we need longer than a month to clarify the matter conclusively, you will receive an interim message from us.
